GAME JAM, 2017

Two sirs are waging war and you, as the god of war, must control the flow of battle. Use cards to change the balance of the fight and make it last the longest, but be advised, both sirs will use cards too, in order to win the war.

GOALS

Creation and development a game in 48 hours. Recruited as a mercenaire in team iLLOGIKA Studios. Event organised by JAM Nation, took place at the Camp Papillon on September 2017.

  • Constraint: accessibility options to underline the purpose of the camp.

1.02 - CAMP PAPILLON

INTENTIONS

  • Cohesion between UI, 2D and 3D assets;

  • Medieval look with a caricatural twist;

  • Balancing of card powers, the events generated by the game and the statistics of the units;

  • Replayability possible with a high score goal;

  • Music by Vibe Avenue.

CHALLENGES

Interpret the theme to create a fun and engaging arcade-style game.

  • Intensive brainstorm with every members;

  • Keep the concept simple and focus on the game design.

 

Manage the quantity of informations delivered to the player during the gameplay.

  • Reduce visual noise by using simple color icons and codes;

  • Evocative sounds warning the player of the events generated by the game.

  • Selection by highlights of camps affected by capacity cards.
